A tantrik in Buxar, Bihar, has been caught up in a disturbing incident involving a newlywed woman, resulting in a brutal confrontation. After allegedly assaulting the woman, the tantrik fled the scene, only to return and face the wrath of the villagers, who meted out severe punishment before turning him over to the police.
The episode occurred in Tiyara village, falling under the Rajpur police station. Gopal Singh, who claimed to be a tantrik priest, was known for performing faith-healing rituals. He had been summoned to Revatipur village in Ghazipur by Havildar Ram’s family for a ritual. It’s alleged that on June 19th, after staying overnight, he entered the newlywed woman’s room. He forcibly administered medication into her eyes and sexually assaulted her. When she resisted, her mangalsutra was also taken.
The noise alerted the family, but the accused had already escaped. The medication damaged the woman’s vision, leading to urgent medical care. Subsequently, on Thursday, the woman’s family located Gopal Singh in Tiyara village. Despite his attempt to evade capture, the villagers apprehended him and alerted the police. The Dial 112 team arrived promptly and transported him to the Rajpur police station.
Rajpur Police Station Officer Gyan Prakash Singh confirmed that Gopal Singh confessed his guilt during interrogation. The woman’s family has brought forward severe accusations against him. Legal proceedings will see him transferred to Revatipur police station in Ghazipur for further investigation and action.
