A disturbing case of possible honor killing is under investigation in Patna, Bihar, following the discovery of a young couple’s bodies on a railway track. The incident, which occurred near Chandan Nagar on the Patna-Gaya rail section, has led to a thorough investigation by local police and SDPO-2. The victims were identified as a young man, Subodh Kumar alias Loha Yadav, and a teenage girl from a neighboring village.
Adding to the complexities of the case, authorities discovered that a kidnapping case had been registered six days earlier, implicating the deceased man and two other individuals. Additionally, a photograph purportedly showing the couple’s wedding had circulated online, causing outrage among the girl’s family. Law enforcement is investigating the possibility that the viral image may have been a trigger for the alleged murder. The investigation is also hampered by the disappearance of two individuals from Sigrampur, reportedly associates of Subodh.
The police have noted injuries on the bodies, suggesting a possible violent assault before the bodies were placed on the tracks. The post-mortem examination is expected to clarify the cause of death. The male victim had a criminal past, with multiple charges including robbery, the Arms Act, and theft. He had previously been incarcerated and was recently wanted in connection with other criminal activities.
