A severe accident in Saran, Bihar, led to the loss of five lives after a pickup van overturned due to a tire failure. The vehicle, traveling at high speed, was carrying a cargo of corn when the accident happened. The victims were all residents of the same village and died instantly.
The incident happened near the Bajitpur Four-Lane road in the Nayagaon police station area of Saran district. The pickup, loaded with corn from Dighwara, was heading to Hajipur when a tire blew out. This caused the driver to lose control, leading to the vehicle overturning.
A total of about 25 people were believed to be on board.
Five people, including one woman, were killed, and several others were injured in the accident. The scene quickly became chaotic as local residents rushed to help. All the deceased, who were from the same village, were identified.
The injured were swiftly transported to the hospital.
The deceased have been identified as: Anju Devi (48, wife of Raj Kumar Pandit), Radhika Devi (50, wife of Raju Baitha), Sonu Kumar (23, son of Shrawan Ram), Rajlaxmi Kumari (15, daughter of Panchu Ram), and Shivam Kumar (7, son of Rambabu Ram). Local police responded to the scene and took the injured to Sadar Hospital in Hajipur for treatment. Two of the injured were subsequently transferred to PMCH for more advanced care. The police have initiated further investigations.
