A significant event is scheduled in Rajgir, Bihar, where Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will be present to honor the state’s athletes. The event will feature the distribution of government job letters to 87 outstanding athletes. Moreover, approximately 8 crore rupees will be provided as खेल सम्मान राशि to 812 athletes. The State Sports Academy in Rajgir will be the venue for this event, taking place on October 5th.
The Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the Bihar State Sports Authority, Ravindran Shankaran, shared information about the event. According to the Medal Lao Naukri Pao scheme, which is an initiative by the Bihar government, athletes who have secured medals in national and international competitions this year will be awarded government jobs. A total of 87 athletes, including 39 women and 48 men, will receive these job selection letters.
The appointed athletes will be placed in different government departments based on their qualifications, including positions ranging from Class One to other categories. Among the athletes selected for jobs, 10 will be appointed as Police Sub-Inspectors with a 4200/- pay grade, with 8 being female athletes. Additionally, one athlete will be appointed as a Child Welfare Officer with a 5400/- pay grade, while 65 athletes will be appointed as Lower Division Clerks in the 1900-2000/- pay grade, along with 11 office attendants.
During the event, approximately 8 crore rupees (7,43,00,000/-) in खेल सम्मान राशि will also be distributed to a total of 812 individuals. These recipients include athletes, coaches, sports associations, and sports officials from Bihar who have demonstrated excellence in 44 different sports at the national and international levels. The खेल सम्मान राशि is to acknowledge their achievements.
The beneficiaries of the खेल सम्मान राशि consist of 152 para-athletes, 631 athletes, 24 coaches, five sports associations, and one sports official. Out of the total 783 athletes, 297 are female and 486 are male. Since 2022 up to the current year, the government has distributed about 23.5 crore rupees in खेल सम्मान राशि to 2085 outstanding athletes across the state.
