The city of Purnia is in mourning after a tragic accident involving the Vande Bharat Express. The incident resulted in the deaths of three individuals and left two others seriously injured. The group was returning home from a local fair when they were hit by the train. The injured were taken to the Government Medical College Hospital (GMCH) in Purnia for treatment. The victims were all residents of Chandpur Bhangaha, near Janakinagar Nagar Panchayat. They were walking along the railway tracks at around 4 am. The train, en route from Jogbani, struck them, resulting in the loss of life. This is the second such incident involving the Jogbani-Danapur Vande Bharat Express in recent times. The train service was inaugurated on September 15th by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and began regular operations on September 17th.
