Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Voter Rights Yatra’ in Bihar, protesting the SIR process, is being joined by Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. She and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy participated on August 26th, which was Hartalika Teej. Priyanka’s involvement in the yatra is planned for two days, with an appearance in Sitamarhi on Ganesh Chaturthi. There are discussions about a visit to the Janaki Temple for Rahul and Priyanka, but security and approvals are still needed.
The Mahagathbandhan’s voter rights yatra progressed from Supaul to Madhubani, with Priyanka Gandhi joining Rahul and Tejashwi. She greeted the public, drawing a large crowd.
Priyanka’s participation strategically aligns with significant dates. She joined on Hartalika Teej, a major festival for women in Bihar, where women celebrated along the route. She also interacted with women at a camp.
The yatra’s second day will be Ganesh Chaturthi, with the yatra entering Sitamarhi, the land of Mother Janaki. Congress strategists are aiming to arrange a visit to the Janaki Temple for Rahul, Priyanka, and Tejashwi. According to Alka Lamba, Priyanka’s choice of participation reflects a focus on women’s festivals and her commitment to engaging with the women of Bihar, with the Janaki Temple visit planned.
Sources say Rahul and Priyanka want to visit the Janaki Temple. Their strategists are working on security and routes, but the temple visit is pending confirmation.
The BJP criticized the Gandhi family’s absence from the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Congress responded by pointing out the Shankaracharyas’ concerns about the temple consecration and calling the Ram Temple event a BJP publicity campaign. They also stated that Rajiv Gandhi had opened the Ram Temple.
