In Patna, the police encountered Vijay Sahani, a notorious criminal, near Biscomaun Golambar in the Alamganj police station area on Sunday night. During the encounter, Sahani was shot in the left leg and subsequently taken to a hospital for treatment. Two weapons were recovered from his possession.
Police investigations revealed that Sahani resided in Asochak, under the Ramkrishna Nagar police station area. Law enforcement received intelligence that Sahani was planning to commit serious crimes. Acting on this information, a combined team from Alamganj, Malsalami, and the STF apprehended Sahani. During questioning, Sahani disclosed the location of hidden weapons near the Biscomaun Golambar area in Alamganj.
When taken to the site, Sahani reportedly retrieved the weapons and opened fire on the police. The police responded in self-defense, resulting in Sahani’s injury. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kartikeya Sharma, along with City SP Parichay Kumar and DSP Rajkishore Singh, arrived at the scene to oversee the investigation. The SSP confirmed that Sahani had over 20 criminal cases registered against him, including murder, robbery, and dacoity. Sources indicate that Sahani operated as a contract killer and had established a reputation as a shooter, extending his criminal operations beyond Bihar to Odisha and Jharkhand.
