A significant issue has arisen in Bihar concerning the inclusion of two Pakistani women on the voter list. The matter came to light during a verification drive conducted by the Ministry of Home Affairs to identify foreign nationals. The investigation revealed that the women, Imrana Khanam and Firdousia Khanam, living in Tank Lane, had secured voter ID cards and were verified during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. Imrana Khatoon, when questioned, stated that she was instructed by the department to remove the names from the list and that she had cross-checked the passport numbers provided. The district administration has started proceedings, requiring the women to present necessary documentation.
