A Patna woman has accused a man of love jihad, fraud, assault, and forced religious conversion in a case filed at the women’s police station. The complainant alleges that the man, a PG student, initially presented himself as Hindu, using the name ‘Sonu,’ and formed a relationship with her. She claims he gained her trust through religious practices.
After the relationship developed, the man began pressuring her to convert to Islam. She reported that she faced physical abuse, was forced to consume beef, and was compelled to learn Islamic practices. When she refused to convert, the man married another woman. She further claims to have been attacked by the man’s family after learning of his marriage. An FIR was registered on June 19 after initial delays, but the woman asserts that the FIR does not include sections related to love jihad. Police are investigating the allegations and will take appropriate legal steps.
