RJD President and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav has sharply criticized the Modi government, asserting that the current conditions in the country are more adverse than those during the Emergency. His statements came during the ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ initiated by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, which focuses on the revision of voter lists and accusations of vote manipulation. Yadav underscored his dedication to protecting democracy, referencing past sacrifices made by him and his party to safeguard democratic values.
Tejashwi Yadav, a leader of the RJD, accused the BJP of misusing constitutional institutions. He also highlighted the importance of protecting the citizens’ right to vote. The ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra,’ scheduled to begin on August 17th, will span 16 days. It will cover approximately 1300 kilometers and include interactions with citizens across more than 20 districts, concluding with a gathering at Gandhi Maidan in Patna on September 1st.
