The Ganga River’s floodwaters have wreaked havoc in Katihar, Bihar. The village of Medinipur is at the epicenter of the crisis, with homes completely submerged and residents forced to live in precarious conditions. The situation is worsened by the lack of essential resources and government support.
Many residents are wading through chest-high water, and animals are also suffering from the lack of food and shelter. The Mukhiya of Raj Baghar Panchayat has appealed for immediate aid, including community kitchens and dry rations. The Mukhiya has also criticized the local administration for their slow response and insufficient resources.
