The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested Mehboob Alam Nadvi, the Bihar Pradesh President of the banned Popular Front of India (PFI), in connection with the 2022 Fulwari Sharif criminal conspiracy case. Alam, a resident of the Hasan Ganj area in the Katihar district of Bihar, was arrested in Kishanganj, making him the 19th person to be apprehended in the case. The initial investigation by local police involved 26 individuals.
NIA investigations revealed that PFI members were involved in unlawful and anti-national activities, intending to create an environment of terror by provoking religious animosity. The document seized on July 11, 2022, from Ahmed Palace, Fulwari Sharif, Patna, indicated that Mehboob Alam was part of the PFI’s conspiracy. The NIA’s investigation showed that he collaborated with other co-accused in the recruitment, training, meetings, and anti-national activities of the PFI. He also collected funds and provided them to the co-accused and PFI workers.
