A shameful incident has emerged within the Bihar Police. A female SI stationed at the Naokothi police station in Begusarai district is under scrutiny for reportedly demanding a bribe to manipulate a case. The SI is seen in a 10-minute video circulating on social media, where she appears to be negotiating the removal of charges in exchange for money. SP Manish Verma has responded with immediate action.
The female SI has been suspended, effective immediately. Her name is Leelavati. In the video, she is seen conversing with someone about removing charges from a case and discussing financial transactions, with sums of 5,000 and 20,000 rupees being mentioned.
Following verification of the allegations, action was taken. When SP Manish Kumar Verma received the video, he instructed the Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Bakhri to investigate. After the investigation confirmed the charges, Leelavati was suspended. Furthermore, disciplinary proceedings were initiated against her for alleged misconduct.
The Begusarai Police issued a press release concerning the matter, explaining that the video featuring the female SI had gone viral. Following an investigation into the video’s content, immediate action was taken. The incident has prompted widespread discussion on how the police operate in the area. This type of issue had previously occurred at Naokothi police station.
