The Muzaffarpur police have intercepted a dangerous offender present with illegal firearms at an event organized for Tourism Minister Kedar Prasad Gupta. The accused, Vikas Kumar, was taken into custody after a search of his vehicle led to the discovery of a semi-automatic gun, a pistol, and 53 bullets. Investigations revealed that the suspect's firearm license from Nagaland was not only expired but also lacked the necessary local clearance to be valid in Bihar. Under current regulations, any weapon brought from another state must be registered with the local district administration, a step the accused bypassed. According to police records, Vikas Kumar is a seasoned offender with seven prior criminal charges and was a wanted man in Jharkhand. The swift arrest by the security detail has been praised for preventing a serious security breach.
