With the Bihar Assembly elections approaching, the National President of the National Women’s Congress, Alka Lamba, has leveled criticism against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, asserting that women have lost faith in him. She believes that the people of Bihar are seeking a change and that the upcoming elections will mark a significant shift.
Lamba announced that Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will be visiting Bihar on Friday to connect with women voters and address women’s issues alongside the Mahagathbandhan. The visit will begin at Sadaqat Ashram, followed by a rally in Motihari where Gandhi will speak on women’s empowerment, inflation, and unemployment.
Priyanka Gandhi’s initial engagement will be at Sadaqat Ashram in Patna. Here, she will participate in a combined discussion with women leaders and workers from the Mahagathbandhan’s constituent parties. The Women’s Congress anticipates that this dialogue will reinforce the evolving perspectives of women within Bihar’s political sphere.
Alka Lamba stated that women previously supported Nitish Kumar, but the situation has changed. She believes that women no longer trust him and are dissatisfied. Lamba predicted a considerable change in the upcoming assembly elections, anticipating a major defeat for the NDA.
Lamba also addressed the Prime Minister’s recent announcement of financial assistance for women, suggesting it was a reaction to the Congress’s initiatives. She expressed her belief that the women of Bihar are well-informed and will not be influenced by such tactics.
