Flooding in the Khagaria district of Bihar has disrupted the lives of many, affecting about 1.25 lakh people. The rising waters of the Ganga and Burhi Gandak rivers have submerged vast areas, particularly in the Khagaria Sadar, Parbatta, and Gogri blocks. Several villages are facing severe challenges, with roads turned into waterways and essential infrastructure like schools and farmlands underwater.
In a heartwarming tale from Borna, Gogri block, a groom made a unique choice for his wedding. Mohammad Zafar, along with his wedding party, arrived at Dighon in Beldaur block via boat, a testament to the challenges posed by the floods. The bride also departed the wedding venue by boat after the ceremony. A local representative mentioned that the wedding date was already set, and despite the flood, the community decided to proceed with the ceremony, showing resilience and adaptability.
