The Agricultural University, Sabour, has received an ‘A’ grade from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), marking a major achievement for Bihar, according to Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha. He emphasized that this recognition signifies the state’s advancement in higher education, research, and innovation. This milestone highlights the concerted efforts of the university’s staff, scientists, educators, and students. The NAAC peer team conducted a detailed assessment of all key areas, including academic programs, administrative operations, infrastructure, research initiatives, and extension activities. This accreditation underlines the university’s dedication to superior education, research, innovation, and national progress. The university’s success reflects the principles of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The curriculum has been updated to incorporate multidisciplinary, skill-oriented, and innovation-driven content, including elements such as outcome-based education, experiential learning, and industry-academic cooperation. Students can choose interdisciplinary courses, participate in research from the outset, and benefit from credit transfer facilities, contributing to a flexible and holistic educational environment as envisioned in NEP. The university has a strong feedback system, regularly gathering input from students, alumni, faculty, employers, and stakeholders to enhance the teaching process and inform policy-making. The Deputy Chief Minister congratulated the university and challenged it to build on this achievement, aiming to establish Bihar as a leader in the fields of knowledge, science, and agricultural innovation.
