Bihar is taking steps to enhance its cybercrime investigation capabilities by setting up cyber forensic laboratories in Patna and Rajgir. These labs will work in tandem with the existing Forensic Science Lab (FSL) managed by the CID. A specialized team from the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) in Gujarat will provide consulting services and support. The NFSU is a unique institution specializing in forensic science and related studies. The labs will facilitate scientific analysis of cybercrimes, aid in the collection of digital evidence, and support the prosecution of those involved. This initiative is particularly significant given the emphasis on digital evidence under the new Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
