Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav narrowly avoided injury when a truck collided with his convoy in Vaishali district on a Saturday morning. The RJD leader was en route to Patna from a political rally in Madhepura when the accident happened. The incident occurred on the Patna-Muzaffarpur highway near Goraul, where the convoy had stopped for a brief break around 12:30 AM.
While Yadav was taking a tea break a short distance from his vehicle, a speeding truck crashed into the stationary vehicles of his security personnel. The impact injured three security officials, who were immediately taken to a nearby hospital. Yadav visited the injured officials to check on their health, and they are now in stable condition, despite suffering bruises and minor fractures.
The truck driver was arrested on the spot, and the truck was taken into custody by the police. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the accident, with some reports suggesting speeding or driver fatigue as potential factors. This incident has triggered discussions regarding the security of political figures during long-distance travel in Bihar, especially at night. RJD supporters expressed their relief on social media and called for enhanced road safety measures and better enforcement of traffic regulations.
Party leaders have called for a thorough examination of VIP security procedures, especially in areas with poor visibility. Tejashwi Yadav has since resumed his usual activities and has reassured his followers and the public that he is safe.
