Dr. S. Siddharth, the Development Commissioner, emphasized that Aadhaar serves as the principal instrument for bolstering digital governance. He highlighted that it allows citizens to benefit from various government schemes while also ensuring the accurate identification of eligible beneficiaries. Dr. Siddharth was speaking at a one-day workshop in Patna, organized by the Information Technology Department of the Bihar government, focusing on Aadhaar verification and robust digital good governance.
Dr. Siddharth further stated that Aadhaar verification has facilitated the identification and cancellation of a significant number of fraudulent ration cards in Bihar. He pointed out that the Aadhaar card is linked to different government departments, causing issues from the variety of numbers across multiple identification forms. Such as Aadhaar, voter ID, PAN, and bank accounts, making correct individual identification problematic.
