Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary detailed the approval of financial incentives for a new readymade garments unit in Bihar. M/s Gogreen Apparel Limited will establish the unit in the Bela Industrial Area, Phase-2 of Muzaffarpur district, with a capacity of 55 lakh pieces per year. The project will be supported by a private investment of 2336.22 lakh rupees. The approval followed the company meeting required conditions, including the provision of documentation and financial reports. The textile and leather sectors are a high priority for the state.
Chaudhary emphasized the importance of attracting industrial investment and the state government’s commitment to fostering industry and creating jobs. The Nitish Kumar-led government is backing these efforts, which include the recently approved New Industrial Policy 2025. This investment in a new garment unit is expected to create jobs and boost industrial development across Bihar.
Speaking at the Bihar Idea Festival in Patna, the Deputy CM highlighted the rapid industrial growth underway. He noted the development of industrial corridors and requested more to accommodate the state’s growing needs. In response, Union Minister Piyush Goyal announced the construction of four additional industrial corridors. Goyal also praised the New Bihar Industrial Investment Promotion Package-2025 for being a simple and generous initiative.
Chaudhary expressed gratitude to Goyal and recognized the historical significance of these developments under the leadership of Nitish Kumar, aiming to generate extensive employment opportunities.
He also highlighted infrastructural improvements like road networks, rail expansions, and marine drive projects. He added that 17 ethanol plants have been established. The state is utilizing corn, wheat, and rice husk for ethanol production. Roughly 40 lakh jobs were created in the past five years. The goal for the period of 2025-30 is to create one crore jobs.
Chaudhary mentioned that the state has benefited from 1.65 lakh crore rupees in schemes from Prime Minister Modi. Projects worth approximately 50,000 crore rupees will be inaugurated in Purnia on September 15th, which includes the opening of Purnia Airport, which will have the largest runway in Bihar.
The state is currently producing and consuming 9,000 megawatts of electricity. Chaudhary expressed his confidence in the future growth of industrial sectors in Bihar, stating that the state is setting a favorable environment through the New Industrial Policy 2025. He concluded by reiterating the vision that Bihar’s progress will contribute to the overall progress of the nation, highlighting the essential role of industries.
