The functioning of Patna AIIMS was disrupted on Friday due to a conflict involving Shivhar JDU MLA Chetan Anand, prompting resident doctors to cease their duties. Both the MLA and AIIMS staff have filed First Information Reports (FIRs) following the incident, which involved physical altercations and accusations of misbehavior. Police are currently reviewing CCTV footage to understand the events that transpired. The situation arose when MLA Chetan Anand, accompanied by supporters, visited the hospital to see a patient. He reported mistreatment by AIIMS security, leading to a formal complaint. The City SP confirmed the registration of cross-complaints related to the incident. The Resident Doctors Association (RDA) has sent a letter to the medical superintendent, requesting action against the MLA and increased security measures. The RDA’s letter accused the MLA, his wife, and armed security personnel of forcibly entering the premises, assaulting security staff, threatening resident doctors, and brandishing a firearm. MLA Anand stated that he and his wife were denied entry when visiting a supporter, which escalated into a confrontation with hospital staff. His mother, Lovely Anand, is a JDU MP representing the Shivhar Lok Sabha constituency.
