Bihar trainer says educating in his school is like ‘tutorial dying’, returns wage

PATNA: In yet one more poor reflection on the state’s decrepit schooling system, a Hindi school trainer in Bihar has returned his accrued wage price almost Rs 24 lakh as college students weren’t attending their Hindi courses since he joined the school in 2019.

“Why should I accept salary when I have not taught the students enrolled in the department,” the trainer remarked whereas setting new benchmarks of honesty and integrity.

He has returned his wage by sending a cheque together with a letter to the college vice-chancellor. In his letter, he has additionally expressed his want to switch him to any of those colleges- LS College, RDS College, MDDM College or the PG division of the college.

Dr Kumar graduated from Delhi University whereas finishing his post-graduation from JNU. He did his M.Phil. and PhD from Delhi University. 

In his letter to the college’s vice-chancellor, the trainer stated, “Out of 131 students, none of them attends his class. For me it is like an ‘academic death’. I am not able to discharge my duties despite my best intention. In such a situation, it would not be morally correct to accept the salary.”

Besides the vice-chancellor, he has despatched copies of his letter to the chancellor (governor), chief minister, state schooling minister, state finance division, Patna High Court (in type of PIL), chairman, University Grants Commission (UGC), union schooling minister, PMO, President and different dignitaries and excessive places of work.

Former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam additionally honoured Dr Kumar with Academic Excellence Award for passing his commencement examination from Hindu College within the first division.

Commenting on the Hindi trainer’s determination to return cash to the federal government, a retired trainer of L N Mithila University professor Vashishtha Singh stated, “Dr. Kumar has exposed the government’s education system.” “It’s virtually a slap on the education system prevailing in colleges and universities in Bihar,” he added.
