Concerned by a rise in cyberattacks, the Bihar government has initiated a comprehensive cyber audit across all its departments and installations. The Economic Offence Unit (EOU) has been designated as the lead agency to spearhead cyber security efforts. The audit will focus on assessing and fortifying online security measures, including websites, online services, and transactions. The aim is to identify and rectify any security weaknesses. The state government is working with C-DAC, I4C, and other entities to develop and execute the audit. The decision to launch the audit was prompted by recent cyber incidents, including the system failure at AIIMS Patna and attacks on essential services. The authorities plan to take strong action against cybercriminals and are determined to ensure the safety and security of government systems.
