Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has injected a fiery tone into the Bihar assembly elections, using historical figures and his state’s governance model as key campaign themes. Speaking in Siwan, Adityanath targeted the RJD’s candidate, Osama Shahab, drawing attention to his family background and suggesting he embodied his name negatively. A significant part of his address involved accusing opposition parties of aligning with criminal elements and drawing a sharp contrast by stating they revere rulers like Babur and Aurangzeb over national icons. Adityanath promoted his ‘bulldozer’ policy as a symbol of decisive action against crime, pledging to continue his zero-tolerance approach. He highlighted the Ayodhya Ram Temple as a significant achievement of ‘cultural justice,’ criticizing the Congress and RJD for their past opposition to it. Adityanath warned voters against the return of ‘jungle raj,’ attributing past fear and neglect to previous governments. He advocated for the continuity of the ‘double engine’ government under the NDA, citing improvements in infrastructure and law and order, and appealed for sustained development for Bihar.
