With the term of the Bihar Legislative Assembly ending on November 22, 2025, the Election Commission is actively preparing for the upcoming elections. CEC Gyanesh Kumar provided details on the electoral process, highlighting the state’s 243 assembly constituencies. He acknowledged the successful completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, which began on June 24, 2025. Kumar praised the dedication of booth-level officers in their efforts to refine the voter list, particularly the 90,217 officers. Kumar appealed to voters to engage fully in the electoral process. He encouraged voters to participate in the elections with the same enthusiasm as the Chhath festival. The election is expected to be a contest between the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan. The Election Commission officials conducted a two-day review in the state. The NDA currently holds 131 seats in the 243-member Bihar Assembly, while the Mahagathbandhan holds 111 seats.
