The Election Commission is nearing completion of its preparations for the Bihar assembly elections. A meeting was held in Patna with representatives from various political parties to discuss the upcoming polls. The BJP took this opportunity to present its requests.
The BJP proposed that the Election Commission conduct the elections in two phases. The party leadership cited the inconvenience to voters and the increased candidate expenses associated with a multi-phased election. The party also requested the deployment of paramilitary forces in villages with a high concentration of extremely backward communities and sought assurance on the timely delivery of voter slips.
