The Prime Minister inaugurated the Yellow Line of the Bengaluru Metro on Sunday, specifically the RV Road (Ragigudda) to Bommasandra section. The Karnataka Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister also participated in the event. The Prime Minister demonstrated the use of a QR code ticket machine at Raghugudda metro station and then officially launched the Yellow Line of the Namma Metro. The Yellow Line, part of the Metro Phase-2 project, features a route length of over 19 km and 16 stations, representing an investment of approximately Rs 7,160 crore. This addition will increase the operational metro network in Bengaluru to over 96 km. Simultaneously, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for the Bangalore Metro Phase-3 project, valued at over Rs 15,610 crore, which will include a route exceeding 44 km and 31 elevated stations. This is aimed at improving transportation infrastructure across residential, industrial, commercial and educational areas within the city.
