An investigation has been launched into the attack on Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta by Rajesh Khimji during a public hearing. CCTV footage shows Khimji surveying the CM’s residence prior to the incident. The accused had visited the CM’s Shalimar Bagh residence, where he obtained the address of her official residence from the staff.
The attack occurred during a public hearing, where Khimji allegedly attacked Gupta after presenting her with some papers. The accused, Rajesh (41), is a resident of Rajkot, Gujarat. After the attack, he was apprehended, and the police initiated an investigation. Senior officials, including the Delhi Police Commissioner and Minister Pravesh Sahib Singh, also visited CM Gupta’s residence.
Reports suggest the attacker was seeking assistance regarding the release of a relative. The police are investigating the motives behind the attack and how the accused obtained the CM’s address.
