Assam: Counting underway for Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council elections

KARBI ANGLONG: The counting of votes for Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) elections are underway.

According to the studies, the ruling BJP is main in 23 out of 26 Council seats within the preliminary development.

The destiny of 154 candidates who contested within the KAAC elections shall be declared on Sunday and the counting of votes are underway at Diphu, Bokajan and Hamren.

The district administration of Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong district has organized tight safety measures and put up strict supervision for the counting course of.

Notably, violence had erupted at two polling cubicles beneath Duar Amla council constituency in West Karbi Anglong district on Wednesday throughout the KAAC election, mentioned police.

According to the police, an irate mob destroyed poll packing containers of two polling cubicles and likewise had set a lot of poll papers.
