Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister of Assam, visited the flood-ravaged Golaghat district to assess the damage and oversee relief efforts. He inspected several relief camps, including those at Simoluchapori and Kenduguri Primary Schools, and engaged with flood-affected residents. The CM directed district officials to assess damage, provide compensation, and address the problem of erosion. Health camps were established in the area and CM ensured adequate healthcare for all the affected people. Furthermore, the CM also interacted with children in the camp and played carrom with them.
