The Amarnath Yatra has been suspended due to a landslide and heavy rainfall, leading to the death of one pilgrim and injuries to three others. The incident happened on July 16, 2025, in the Rail Pathri area, forcing the suspension from all base camps. The IMD has issued a red alert for the region, indicating heavy to very heavy rainfall. The Yatra, which commenced on July 3, 2025, and has already seen over 247,313 visitors, is planned to continue from August 9, 2025. Officials are actively monitoring the situation and the Yatra is anticipated to restart when conditions are favorable and the routes are safe.
