Alka Lamba, representing the Congress, has made serious allegations of ‘vote theft’ in the Bihar elections, implicating Narendra Modi and the Election Commission. Lamba detailed instances of alleged voter fraud, including multiple entries at the same address, duplicate names, and the presence of deceased individuals in the voter list. She claimed that these examples demonstrate a broader pattern of election manipulation. Lamba accused the ruling party and the Election Commission of undermining the democratic process by removing voter names. She specifically criticized the removal of approximately 23 lakh women from the voter rolls across six districts in Bihar. Lamba stated that this action is a violation of the constitution and is intended to prevent women from voting in the upcoming elections. She emphasized that these actions are aimed at disenfranchising a significant portion of the electorate. The Congress party is also conducting a nationwide signature campaign to protest against the alleged ‘vote theft.’ Lamba questioned how the votes of these women were considered valid in previous elections, when they voted in the Lok Sabha polls. She stated that the Congress would expose all the alleged conspiracies to manipulate the final voter list. Lamba also highlighted the fact that the government is attempting to influence voters by depositing money in women’s accounts while at the same time removing their names from the voter list.
