An Air India flight, en route from Birmingham to Delhi, was diverted to Riyadh on Saturday following a bomb threat. The airline spokesperson announced that flight AI114 landed safely in Riyadh and was subjected to security checks. This event is part of a series of recent incidents that have affected the aviation industry. A technical glitch caused the cancellation of an IndiGo flight. Further, an Air India Express flight from Delhi to Patna was rerouted to Varanasi because of inclement weather. In another incident, an IndiGo flight from Guwahati to Chennai declared a ‘Mayday’ and landed at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport. The ‘Mayday’ declaration was made when the aircraft was running low on fuel. The aircraft had to abandon its landing attempt in Chennai because of an unstable approach.
