In a tragic event that has shaken the Duddhi area of Sonbhadra district, Uttar Pradesh, an 18-month-old girl has died after falling into a vessel of boiling food. The accident occurred on Saturday night. The girl, whose father is a chaat vendor, suffered severe burns from the incident involving a pot of boiling ‘chhole’. This is a second devastating loss for the family, as the girl’s elder sister died two years prior in a comparable incident involving boiling ‘dal’. Local police, after conducting an investigation, confirmed the event to be accidental. The girl’s father, Shailendra, reported that his wife was preparing ‘golgappa’ and had briefly left the room. During that time, his daughter, Priya, fell into the boiling vessel. Despite immediate action from the mother and subsequent medical treatment, the young girl succumbed to her injuries at the district hospital on Saturday.
