26 held in Uttar Pradesh’s Kairana following conflict throughout Holi celebrations

MUZAFFARNAGAR: Twenty-six individuals had been arrested in Uttar Pradesh’s Shamli district when two teams clashed whereas taking part in Holi, police stated on Saturday.

The incident passed off in Sehpat village beneath Kairana police station limits on Friday, Station House Officer (SHO) Anil Kaparwan stated.

Several individuals had been additionally injured, together with six who had been hospitalised in severe situation, within the conflict during which lathis, iron rods and brick bats had been freely used, he stated.

According to the SHO, police registered a case beneath Indian Penal Code sections 323 (voluntarily inflicting harm), 324 (voluntarily inflicting harm by harmful weapons), 504 (intentional insult to impress breach of peace) and 506 (legal intimidation) and arrested 26 individuals on Saturday.
