Haryana is set to launch the ‘Deen Dayal Upadhyay Lado Lakshmi Yojana’, as announced by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. The scheme promises a monthly financial assistance of ₹2,100 to eligible women. The program is slated to commence on September 25th. This scheme fulfills a key election promise of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Haryana. The announcement was made following a Haryana cabinet meeting chaired by CM Saini. The cabinet approved the launch of the ‘Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana’, which will be implemented from September 25th, coinciding with Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay’s birth anniversary. Both married and unmarried women will be eligible to benefit from this scheme. CM Saini confirmed that the scheme will provide ₹2,100 in monthly aid to all eligible female beneficiaries. From September 25th, women aged 23 and above will be eligible for the scheme, irrespective of their marital status. In the first phase, the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana will include families with an annual income below ₹1 lakh. The plan is to expand the scheme over time to include higher-income groups. There is no restriction on the number of eligible women per family; all qualifying women in a household will receive the benefits. To be eligible for the Lado Yojana, unmarried women, or the husbands of married women, must have been residents of Haryana for 15 years. Those already receiving larger pensions from 9 other existing government schemes are ineligible. Women suffering from Stage 3 and 4 cancer, 54 listed rare diseases, as well as those with hemophilia, thalassemia, and sickle cell anemia, already receiving pensions, will also get additional benefits. Unmarried women at age 45 will automatically qualify for the Widow and Destitute Women Financial Assistance Scheme. At 60, beneficiaries will automatically be eligible for the Old Age Samman Bhatta Pension Scheme. The initial phase is expected to benefit around 19-20 lakh women. The scheme will be officially notified in the next week, and a mobile app will be launched soon. Eligible women can apply for the scheme through the app from their homes. SMS notifications will be sent to potential beneficiaries, guiding them to apply through the app. Lists of eligible women will be available in all panchayats and wards.
