Abhishek Banerjee Seeks Permission to Travel Abroad for Eye Surgery, Court Schedules Hearing

Abhishek Banerjee, a prominent member of the Trinamool Congress, has approached the judiciary for clearance to undergo eye surgery overseas. The High Court’s solitary bench, presided over by Justice Saugat Bhatta Charya, will consider the request after reviewing the medical report from SSKM Hospital. The judge emphasized that any decision will be taken only after a thorough examination of the specialist’s assessment. The hearing follows Banerjee’s recent appeal to the Supreme Court, which remanded the case back to the Kolkata High Court with a directive to deliver a verdict within seven days.
