Bank Holidays in September 2020: RBI has released the official list of bank holidays of September 2020. It has been appealed to the account holders to settle their urgent work on time. The list of holidays is not long this month, however, it is important to keep these dates in mind for the people who have more work for the bank. There will be bank holidays in India on the second and fourth Saturdays of September. This system has been in operation since 2015. There are many religious festivals in the month of September, on which regional holidays are fixed by the state governments.

Amavasya Shraddha is coinciding with Vishwakarma Jayanti on 16 September i.e. the Pitru Paksha will end on the same day. Vishwakarma Jayanti is celebrated in Karnataka, Assam, West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Tripura in India.

  • September 13 (Sunday): Public holiday in all states.
  • September 17 (Thursday): Holiday at Agartala, Bengaluru, Kolkata due to Mahalaya Amavasya.
  • September 20 (Sunday): Holiday in all states due to Sunday.
  • 21 September (Monday): Holiday in Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram due to Sri Narayana Guru Samadhi Day.
  • 26 September (Saturday): Holiday in all states since the fourth Saturday.
  • 27 September (Sunday): Public holiday in all states
