Why David Dhawan Calls Supporting Cast the 'Soul' of His Blockbusters

Making waves with 'Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai', David Dhawan teams Varun Dhawan with Mrunal Thakur and Pooja Hegde for rom-com gold. But chatting on Kapil Sharma's show, David Dhawan revealed the secret sauce behind his string of successes: powerhouse character artists.

'Heroes rotate, messing up lines, but these artists? Pure brilliance, every take,' David laughed. They infused films with authentic hilarity, often carrying narratives on their shoulders.

He name-dropped legends Kader Khan, Shakti Kapoor, Anupam Kher, Satish Kaushik, and Paresh Rawal, praising their ability to dominate from sidelines. 'Small roles, massive influence—their comedy raised the bar, making movies iconic.'

Echoing that vibe, the new release stars Maniesh Paul, Jimmy Shergill, Mouni Roy, and Chunky Pandey. Tips Films and Ramesh Taurani present, eyeing June 12 after a date change from June 5 for polishing.

David's shoutout celebrates Bollywood's rich supporting talent, reminding fans that true stars often lurk beyond the marquee lights.
