Aamir Khan has chosen to forgo a ₹120 crore deal from Amazon Prime Video, opting instead to prioritize the theatrical release of his upcoming film, ‘Sitaare Zameen Par.’ The actor’s strategy is aimed at preserving and promoting the tradition of watching movies in cinemas. He intends to challenge the increasing trend of immediate OTT releases after theatrical runs. The film, a spiritual sequel to ‘Taare Zameen Par,’ is directed by RS Prasanna and stars Aamir Khan as a basketball coach, Genelia D’Souza, and several debut actors with special needs. It is scheduled to release on June 20 and is a remake of the Spanish film, ‘Campeones’.
