The concluding chapter of the ‘The Conjuring’ series, ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites,’ is achieving considerable success at the Indian box office. The film is outperforming its domestic competition, having already set multiple records during its first week. Directed by Michael Chaves and starring Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson, the film’s strong performance continued on Tuesday, with approximately ₹5.68 crore earned, a 13.6% rise from Monday’s ₹5 crore collection. This performance follows a strong opening weekend, where it exceeded the ₹50.5 crore net mark within three days. The total net collection has reached ₹61.18 crore, with a gross of ₹60.40 crore. This is considered the biggest opening for a Hollywood horror film in India. ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’ is approaching the ₹61.80 crore record set by ‘The Conjuring 2’ in India. ‘Final Destination: Bloodlines’ had previously held that record with ₹62.12 crore. Given its current momentum, ‘Last Rites’ is positioned to surpass both films. The film’s gross collection has reached ₹67.5 crore by its fifth day. The English version of the film earned ₹33.34 crore, while the Hindi dub contributed ₹24.38 crore. The Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions brought in ₹2.51 crore and ₹95 lakh, respectively, for a total of ₹3.46 crore from regional languages. ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’ has surpassed domestic films in earnings, taking the lead at the box office. Globally, ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’ has achieved the largest opening weekend for a horror film. It grossed $194 million worldwide in its opening weekend, surpassing the $190 million earned by the 2017 film ‘It.’ Of this total, $110 million came from the overseas market, establishing a new international record for the horror genre. The ‘Conjuring’ franchise, which includes films like ‘The Nun’ and ‘Annabelle,’ is now the highest-grossing horror series ever, with over $2.3 billion in total gross revenue.
