Sunjay Kapur, industrialist and former husband of Karisma Kapoor, has died at the age of 53 in the United Kingdom. According to reports, he suffered a heart attack during a polo match. His message on X, shared on June 9, is now widely shared and discussed. The message centered around the concept of the limited time one has on Earth.
The post stated: ‘Your time on Earth is limited. Leave the ‘what ifs’ to the philosophers and instead dive headfirst into the ‘why nots’.’ Accompanying this was the caption, ‘Progress demands bold choices, not perfect conditions.’
Before his death, Kapur had also shared his thoughts on the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad, writing: ‘Terrible news of the tragic Air India crash in Ahmedabad. My thoughts and prayers are with all the families affected. May they find strength in this difficult hour. #planecrash.’
Sunjay Kapur was the chairman of Sona Comstar and a well-known personality in the automotive industry. He was also the Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Northern Region, leading efforts in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and three Union Territories.
His relationships included a marriage to designer Nandita Mahtani, followed by a marriage to Karisma Kapoor with whom he had two children. Following their divorce in 2016, he married model Priya Sachdev. Celebrities such as Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, and Malaika Arora visited Karisma Kapoor’s Mumbai home following news of his death.
