Shaan, in a conversation with TV9 Bharatvarsh, shared the making of this song. He explained that he comes from a musical family. His father, Manas Mukherji, imparted his musical knowledge to him. Shaan began his career singing jingles. He felt ready to take the next step at the age of 15-16.
Shaan mentioned that the music composer, Ram Sampath, created the melody. Shaan sang the song in memory of his friends. He further added that the song always reminds him of his friends and its significance to him. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the song.
