Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda is battling for his life after being involved in a serious road accident near Baddi, Himachal Pradesh, on Saturday. His motorcycle collided with stray cattle on the road, causing significant injuries. He was first admitted to the Civil Hospital, where he received treatment for head and spinal injuries and suffered a cardiac arrest. He was later moved to Fortis Hospital, Mohali, for more specialized medical attention.
In the latest update, Rajvir Jawanda is still on life support at Fortis. Medical assessments describe his neurological condition as critical, noting minimal brain activity and a lack of improvement despite receiving advanced medical care. MRI scans revealed hypoxic brain changes, a consequence of the CPR administered at the initial hospital. Examinations of his brain and spine have shown extensive damage to the cervical and dorsal regions, leading to substantial weakness in all four limbs.
He requires continuous ventilator support. The long-term outlook for his recovery is considered guarded.
Several fellow artists have expressed support for Rajvir Jawanda and are encouraging fans to pray for him. Diljit Dosanjh paused his concert in Hong Kong to ask the audience to pray for Rajvir, whom he called a dear friend and a gifted singer. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann also visited the hospital to check on his condition.
Rajvir Jawanda launched his music career in 2014 and gained recognition with his hit song, “Kali Jawande Di.” Beyond singing, he has acted in films such as Mindo Taseeldarni and Subedar Joginder Singh. Before entering the entertainment industry, he worked in the Punjab Police. He currently lives in Mohali with his family.
