Rajpal Yadav Faces Property Seizure as Debt Recovery Accelerates
The Central Bank of India’s Mumbai branch has filed auction notices on two of Rajpal Yadav’s assets in Shahjahanpur as part of an intensified debt‑recovery drive. The actor owes the bank ₹16.61 crore, a sum tied to financing for his stalled movie project.
Bank officials disclosed that the notice covers a city‑center house and a rural farmhouse‑plus‑land parcel. Both properties have been valued at a combined reserve price of roughly ₹3.19 crore each, with an electronic auction scheduled for early September 2026.
Yadav’s loan was originally secured to fund the production of “Ata Pata Lapata.” After the film’s commercial failure, repayment schedules slipped, and accrued interest ballooned the liability.
In addition to the Shahjahanpur properties, the lender is reportedly examining other assets owned by the actor in Mumbai for possible attachment. The financial pressure comes on the heels of a Delhi High Court judgment that found Yadav guilty in a cheque‑bounce case, resulting in a three‑month jail term.
