The highly anticipated wedding of Indian cricket star Smriti Mandhana and music director Palash Muchhal, initially slated for November 23, has been officially postponed and no new date has been set. The ceremony was delayed on the wedding day itself due to the sudden illness of Smriti’s father, Srinivas, who was hospitalized. Palash also underwent a short period of hospitalization. Both have since been discharged, but the families have remained tight-lipped about future plans.
Rumors recently circulated online suggesting the couple would marry on December 7. However, these reports have been explicitly denied by Smriti’s brother, Shravan Mandhana. He stated that no wedding date has been finalized and the postponement is still in effect. “I have no idea about these rumors. As of now, it (the wedding) is still postponed,” he clarified, aiming to curb further speculation.
Palash Muchhal’s mother, Amita, shared her sentiments regarding the delay, expressing a strong desire for the wedding to happen soon. She acknowledged the emotional toll the sudden turn of events has had on both families. “Smriti and Palash are both in distress… Palash dreamt of coming home with his bride. I had even planned a special welcome…Everything will be fine, the wedding will happen very soon,” she said, conveying a message of hope.
In related news, support for Smriti Mandhana has been highlighted by actor Suniel Shetty. He praised cricketer Jemimah Rodrigues for her loyalty and support, noting her decision to leave the Women’s Big Bash League to be by Smriti’s side during this difficult period. Shetty described it as a touching example of genuine friendship and solidarity.
