Mani Ratnam: ‘SS Rajamouli has opened a door for all of us’

Filmmaker Mani Ratnam launched the tune “Chola Chola” from his upcoming movie Ponniyin Selvan Part 1 on Friday. At the tune launch, Ratnam took the chance to precise his gratitude in direction of Chiranjeevi and SS Rajamouli amongst others.

While Ratnam refused to disclose why he’s thanking Chiranjeevi, the director mentioned he’s thanking Rajamouli as it’s due to the maverick filmmaker that different administrators have gotten the boldness to inform their tales in two elements.

He mentioned, “In a way, he has opened a door for all of us and has shown us that this kind of film can be made. You can tell stories in two parts and be successful. It has become possible because of Baahubali, so I really want to thank him.”

Historical interval drama Ponniyin Selvan is a movie adaptation of Kalki’s novel collection of the identical title. It is being made in two elements, with the primary half releasing on September 30. Starring Karthi, Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Rai and Trisha within the lead roles, the movie has music by AR Rahman. The newest tune of the movie, “Chola Chola” is devoted to the valour of Aditya Karikalan, the Chola king, who’s performed by Vikram within the film.
