Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ has been released, building on the success of the 2022 Kannada film ‘Kantara,’ and is currently playing in cinemas. The prequel has been positively received by audiences. On its second day, the film earned Rs 43.65 crore, according to reports, pushing the total earnings to over Rs 100 crore, with a cumulative total of Rs 105.5 crore. The cast features Rishab Shetty as Berme, Rukmini Vasanth as Kanakavathi, and Gulshan Devaiah as Kulashekara. The film’s visual experience is shaped by the cinematography of Arvind S. Kashyap and the music of B. Ajaneesh Loknath. Vijay Kiragandur is the producer under the banner of Hombale Films. The original ‘Kantara’, directed by and starring Rishab Shetty, included Sapthami Gowda, Kishore, and Achyuth Kumar and revolved around a Kambala champion involved in a struggle over sacred land. It became the highest-grossing Kannada film and earned Rishab Shetty a National Film Award. In the Hindi market, ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ is competing with the movie ‘Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari’.
