A recent viral video showed Thakur making body-shaming remarks about Basu, leading to significant backlash. Mrunal Thakur later issued an apology. Hina Khan shared her thoughts on Instagram, writing, “Knowledge comes from experience. Our social skills, communication, and understanding deepen with time. We all err, particularly when we are young.” She further commented, “I can relate to Mrunal’s perspective; I too, have made silly errors in the past. Some of us navigate big risks without the requisite skills. But with time, we evolve and become compassionate. We learn to support each other and lift each other up.” Hina acknowledged the inspiring Bollywood journeys of both Mrunal and Bipasha Basu, emphasizing that both women are remarkable. “Like everyone, I’ve admired both Bipasha and Mrunal’s inspiring journeys in the industry… Both are great, and Bipasha is an inspiration to the entire community. I am pleased and proud that Mrunal owned up to her past mistake,” she said.
